MARTA Hosts Junior Achievement Program for Area High School Students

Six area high school students joined MARTA's staff on April 7th to learn more about careers in transit as part of the Junior Achievement Fellows, a career mentoring program for Georgia students. Students from Alpha Academy, Campbell High School, Douglass High School and Terrell High School were welcomed by MARTA Board members and MARTA General Manager/CEO Beverly A. Scott and recognized for their participation in the program.

"MARTA is thrilled to offer these students a firsthand look at what goes into running a transit agency," said Dr. Scott. "These students are the leaders of tomorrow, and the Junior Achievement program offers them a great opportunity to begin applying what they've learned in the classroom to a future career."

The Georgia Junior Achievement Fellows program offers highly motivated high students the opportunity to gain in-depth, hands-on experience in their fields of interest and further develop their leadership skills. The program is designed to teach students business, team building, financial and communications skills that will help them to achieve their educational and career goals.
