MARTA will host a series of public hearings on its proposed FY08 Operating and Capital Budget and Paratransit fare structure on April 23 and 24, 2007, to gather input from customers and stakeholders. The proposed FY08 budget offers numerous enhancements to the system including improvements to service delivery, upgrades to systems and equipment, and additional personnel. No fare increase is included in the budget.
Proposed improvements include:
- An increase in uniformed presence throughout the system.
- Additional customer service representatives and cleaning and maintenance staff.
- Additional bus and rail operators to improve service delivery.
- Additional investments in paratransit services.
- Enhancements to fixed route bus service.
- Ongoing upgrades to lighting and escalators in the stations.
- Acquisition of clean fuel buses and new paratransit vans.
- Continuation of projects to rebuild and upgrade trackway.
- Continuation of ongoing rail car rehabilitation program.
Staff will be available to provide information and answer questions for one hour prior to the start of the official public hearing.
